Many people believe that making condoms available in schools would increase sexual activity among students, saying that that would encourage teens to have sex before marriage. However, studies have shown this to be untrue. A study of schools in Massachusetts that made condoms available to high-school students foundd that the number of students who used condoms doubled. Another study of a school district in Los Angeles, California, found an increase of 1/3 in the number of sexually experienced males using condoms. Condoms should be made available to all high-schools students, because doing so can increase the number of students who practice safe sex.
